Who, O Monkey-King Hanuman, does not know that you are known as one who destroys all distress. When still a child you swallowed the Sun plunging the three spheres into darkness and causing great fright, none could avert this calamity. Then came the gods to beseech you to release the Sun, which you did and warded off the disaster.

Who does not know, O Lord Hanuman, that you are the dispeller of all distress? The Monkey-king Sugriva had made a mountain retreat his abode for fear of Bali (his brother). You saw the Supreme Lord Rama going on his way, when Narada?s curse flashed across your mind. You began to contemplate the course to be adopted (to help your Lord). Disguised as a twice-born Brahmana, you brought Him to Sugriva, thus paving the way for his deliverance from the canker of fear.

ANGADA KE SANGA LENA GAYE KHOJI KAPIISHA YAHA BAINA UCHAARO
JIIVATA NAA BACHIHO HAMASA JU BINAA SUDHI LAAII IHAAN PAGA DHAARO
HERI THAKI TATA SINDHU SABAI TABA LAAII SIYA SUDHI PRAANA UBAARO
KO NAHIIN?

Is there a person, O Lord, in this world who does not know that you are called the destroyer of all distress? Before you left in Angada?s company to bring Sita?s tidings, the monkey-king Sugriva said, " He who sets foot here without any news of Sita shall die at my hands." Fatigued to the point of desperation on account of the fruitless search they made on the sea-beach they lost hope of survival; it was then that you brought the news of Sita and saved the lives of all.

RAAVANA TRAASA DAII SIYA KO SABA RAAKSHASII SO KAHI SHOKA NIBAARO
TAAHI SAMAYA HANUMAANA MAHAAPRABHU JAAYA MAHAARAAJANIICHARA MAARO
CHAAHITA SIYA ASHOKA SO AAGI SU DAII PRABHU MUDRIKAA SOKA NIBAARO
KO NAHIIN JAANATA HAI?

Having given Sita all possible fright, Ravana bade the demonesses redress her grievances (endeavour to pacify her). O Lord Hanuman, you sallied forth at once and slew the dread wanderers of the night, the demons of Lanka. When Sita begged the Ashoka tree to give her fire (when she was utterly disconsolate), you gave her the Lord?s ring and relieved her of her grief. Who does not know, O Lord, that you are called a redresser of all distress?

BAANA LAGYO URA LAKSHMANA KE TABA PRAANA TAJE SUTA RAAVANA MAARO
LAAII GRAHA VAIDYA SUSHENA SAMETA TABAHIN GIRI DRONA SU VIIRA UBAARO
AANI SANJIIVANI HAATHA DAII TABA LAKSHMANA KE TUMA PRAANA UBAARO
KO NAHIN JAANATA HAI?

When Lakshmana was pierced with an arrow shot by Ravana?s son, Meghananda and it was feared that he would give up the ghost, you brought Sushena, the physician, along with house and all and , O mighty stalwart, you tore the mountain Drona up by the roots ad returning, handed the life-giving herb to Sushena, thus saving the life of Lakshmana. Who does not know, O Lord, that you are called a redresser of all distress?

RAAVANA UDDHA AJAANA KIYO TABA NAAGA KE PHAANSI SABAI SIRA DAARO
SHRI RAGHUNAATHA SAMETA SABAI DALA MOHA HAYO YAHA SANKATA BHAARO
AANI KHAGESHA TABAI HANUMAANA JU BANDHANA KAATI SUTRAASA NIVAARO
KO NAHIN JAANATA HAI?

Unaware of Rama?s might, Ravana, the most errant fool that he was, rallied his squadrons against Rama and hurled a missile called Naagapaashaa (serpents coil), with which he entangled the heads of all monkey troops. Confounded, they did not know what to do in this critical hour. It was then that Hanuman summoned Garuda, the king of birds, who cut the coils asunder and relieved them out of their fright.

BANDHU SAMETA JABAI AHIRAAVANA LE RAGHUNAATHA PAATAALA SIDHAARO
DEVIHIN PUUJI BHALII VIDHI SON BALI DEU SABAI MILI MANTRA VICHAARO
JAAII SAHAAII BHAYO TABAHIN AHIRAAVANA SAINYA SAMETA SANHAARO
KO NAHIN JAANATA HAI?

When Ahiravana carried Rama and Lakshmana to the nether most region of the earth where, having most devoutly worshipped his favoured goddess, he conspired with his counselors to murder the two brothers, you went there at once and having slain Ahiravana and his demon host lost no time in saving your masters (Rama and Lakshmana). Who does not know, O Lord, that you are a redresser of all distress?

KAAJA KIYE KIYE BADA DEVANA KE TUMA VIIRA MAHAAPRABHU DEKHI VICHAARO
KAUNA SO SANKATA MORI GARIIBA KO JO TUMA SO NAHIN JAATA HAI TAARO
VEGI HARO HANUMAANA MAHAAPRABHU JO KACHCHU SANKATA HOII HAMAARO
KO NAHIN JAANATA HAI?

Who does not know, O Lord that you are renowned in the world as one who relieves all of whatever distress they are in? O valiant master, you performed the most challenging tasks for the gods; now think and consider whether there is any distress of which you cannot relieve a wretched creature like me (which is beyond your power of redressal); O Great Lord Hanuman, pray avert, without any loss of time, any crisis that is likely to befall me.
