The year 2003 will
see four eclipses in all-two solar and two lunar, the details of which are given below:-
1) Total Lunar
eclipse - It will take place on 16th May 2003 and will be visible
in countries like Europe,southern part of Greenland, Eastern part of North America,Central America, South America, Africa, Western part of Central Asia, Atlantic region, South-Eastern Pacific region, Western part of Indian region.The eclipse will begin at 7. 33 am (I.S.T) and will end at 9.10
am (I.S.T). The duration of the eclipse is 18 seconds,This eclipse
will not be visible in India
2) Partial solar
eclipse - It will take place on 31'st May 2003 and will be visible in the Northern and North Eastern part of India. However,it will not be visible in countries
like Eastern part of Africa,Europe, Northern part of Asia, Northern Greenland,North Canada and Alaska. The eclipse will begin at 7.16 am (IST) and end at 12.00 O Clock (IST).
3) Total Lunar
eclipse - It will take place on November 8-9, 2003 and will be visible in India. The commencement of the eclipse will be visible in Eastern Africa, Europe, Central and Western Asia, Greenland, Arctic region, Eastern part of North America, Central America, South America. The end of the eclipse will be visible in Europe, North-West Asia, Arctic region, Greenland, North America, Central America, South America, Antarctica region, Atlantic region.
2) Total solar
eclipse - It will take place on November 23-24, 2003 and will not be visible in India. It will be visible in countries like Australia, Newzealand, Antarctica, Southern part of Pacific region and Southern part of South America. The eclipse will begin at 2.16 am (IST) and end at 6.22 am (IST).
